Craft Makers of the Month
Kurotani Washi
“800 Years of Papermaking, from the Mountain Village of Ayabe”
In Kurotani, a mountain village in Ayabe City, Kyoto Prefecture, lies a historic center of hand-scooped washi papermaking with a tradition spanning more than 800 years.
Carefully crafted by hand, Kurotani Washi carries the authentic texture long valued in calligraphy and traditional mounting, while also blending naturally into contemporary living.
We invite you to welcome into your everyday life a single sheet shaped by the skill of artisans and the climate and culture of its region.

THREE RIVERS
“Opening up the flavor of coffee through the craft of Arita ware.”
Born in the town of Arita, home to more than 400 years of porcelain-making history, THREERIVERS brings traditional ceramic expertise into a new form: the patented coffee filter, Cera Filter 39 Arita.
Its microscopic pores reduce unwanted bitterness while allowing the natural oils of the coffee beans to pass through, creating a cup that is smooth, mellow, and full of depth.
With each daily coffee ritual, it offers a new way to enjoy Japanese craftsmanship.

About Us
Bringing Timeless Craft into a Meaningful Future
“Watashi no Meihincho” curates exceptional works from artisans across Japan —
pieces born of techniques and aesthetics refined over generations,
yet thoughtfully reimagined for modern living and values.
Each handcrafted object carries not only historical significance,
but also a quiet beauty and tangible quality you feel the moment you hold it.
Within every piece lies the story and spirit of its maker,
bringing a subtle touch of the extraordinary to everyday life.
By sharing these stories and reframing the meaning of craft for today,
we aim to create a new Japanese craft brand
that the world can admire and embrace for generations to come.
