The sheer Kyoto fan is beautiful as an interior decoration.
Simply propping up the fan like a picture frame will brighten up any space. Satsuki Ogi uses a technique called "katabari" (one-sided pasting) to create original fans that are not limited by material, thickness, or shape. This product uses specially thin Ecchu washi paper, designated as a national traditional craft. A thin layer of gauze (a type of silk fabric) is pasted on the back of the hand-carved floral pattern, creating a cool, sheer look.



The unique colors, carefully applied by an experienced artist who also works in Kyo-Yuzen, are a true artisanal skill that cannot be reproduced by printing. The craftsmanship of the artisan shines through in this Kyoto fan, which is cool to use and look at when displayed. An embroidered fan bag is also included in the set.
