Notices

・Since natural wood is used, the grain is different for each piece. Please understand that this is a characteristic of the material. ・Since natural lacquer is used, the color may vary. Lacquer does not dry without humidity. We control humidity and temperature, but the color may vary depending on the day it is applied. Please understand that this is a characteristic of lacquer. ・Since natural lacquer is used, in rare cases, depending on your constitution, you may experience an allergic reaction. ・Do not use for any purpose other than chopsticks. ・The usable period will vary depending on how it is handled and the environment. ・Since it is a wooden product, expansion, bending, and cracking may occur. ・Chopsticks are consumables. Replace them if they are damaged.

Born from the desire of Wajima artisans—whose lacquerware workshop has continued for over 70 years in Japan’s renowned lacquercraft region—“Jūhachi-zen” was created to bring lacquered chopsticks into everyday life with ease.

Each pair is carefully handcrafted using Noto Hiba, the prefectural tree of Ishikawa, and natural lacquer—the only true organic coating.

Using the traditional fuki-urushi (wiped lacquer) technique, lacquer is rubbed into the wood and excess is wiped away repeatedly, creating a deep, soft luster and rich finish.

A distinctive feature of Jūhachi-zen chopsticks is the application of a kanshitsu (dry lacquer) non-slip coating to every pair.
Because natural wood and lacquer are used, each piece has its own unique grain and tone.

The smooth, rounded shape fits comfortably in the hand, while the black-and-white modern design complements any table setting, from Japanese to Western cuisine.

The rhythmically arranged circular patterns create a gentle, inviting impression that harmonizes beautifully with any tableware.
Perfect for everyday meals, festive gatherings such as New Year’s celebrations, or as a thoughtful gift for someone special.
