This business card holder is dyed using the katazome technique, traditionally used for kimono fabrics, on Kurotani washi paper—a craft with a proud history of over 800 years.
Each sheet is carefully handcrafted using high-quality kozo (mulberry) fibers, made one by one through the traditional tesuki (handmade papermaking) method by skilled artisans in time-honored workshops.
The thick, long fibers of kozo are intricately intertwined by hand over a long period, resulting in a product that is remarkably durable and resistant to tearing, even under pressure.
