Notices

The durable and beautiful Tetsuboku Chopsticks by Yatsuyanagi are made from Tagayasan, an exceptionally hard wood known as one of Japan’s three great exotic hardwoods (karaki).

This dense natural wood is highly resistant to water and oil, making it extremely durable. One of its most appealing features is how it gradually conforms to your hand and develops a rich luster the more it’s used.

The non-slip tips are specially finished to allow a secure grip on food, enhancing ease of use.

The handle is wrapped with wild cherry bark (Yamazakura) and delicately adorned with cherry blossom motifs in raden(mother-of-pearl inlay), creating a refined and elegant finish. These chopsticks gently fit the fingers, feel soft in the mouth, and radiate the warmth of natural materials.

With consideration for the environment, the coating uses skin-friendly, safe materials. The water-repellent finish allows for easy washing and daily use.

Meticulously crafted from natural materials by skilled artisans, these premium Tetsuboku Chopsticks combine traditional beauty with modern practicality.

They add a touch of elegance to your everyday meals. Available as a pair, they also make a thoughtful gift for couples, spouses, or family members.

Kakunodate, Semboku City, Akita Prefecture, where our workshop is located, is a beautiful area rich in nature, and the birch work created here is made using the bark of wild cherry trees.
