Notices

This is a bentwood sake cup from Kurikyu. The inside is finished with plain Akita cedar, and the cedar scent makes the sake taste even more mellow and delicious. Pour sake into it and you can add a touch of flavor to your usual drink, and enjoy the gentle warmth of the wood in a luxurious way with all five senses.
Thinly shaved Akita cedar boards are boiled in hot water to soften them, then rolled into a cylinder and glued together at the seams. They are then sewn together with mountain cherry bark, and the bottom board is then attached tightly. The beauty of the straight grain, unique to Akita cedar, is enhanced by the expression of the mountain cherry, adding a charming touch to the design. This product won the 2012 Good Design Long Life Design Award.
