Natural Akita cedar

This cup is handmade by craftsmen who utilizes the technique of Akita's traditional craft "Akita cedar barrel". Made from natural Akita cedar, one of Japan's three most beautiful forests. It has a faint cedar scent, a warm and comfortable texture, a lightness that is easy to pick up, and the most attractive feature is the fine, beautiful wood grain that follows the growth rings.

It has excellent heat and cold retention properties, and does not get hot to the touch even when filled with hot drinks, so it can be used in a variety of situations such as hot water, coffee, and tea. It is also characterized by its gentle texture. The scent of Akita cedar is said to make alcohol even more delicious, so we recommend pouring it over shochu or beer and using it as an evening drink. Why not spend a relaxing and special time while feeling the scent and warmth of cedar in a natural cedar cup that is both beautiful and functional.

At Okedaru Kobo Aki, which has a workshop in Kitaakita City, Akio Sato, a craftsman with 40 years of experience in the industry, handcrafts each of the now rare natural Akita cedar barrels one by one.
