Notices

This is a magewappa sake cup from Kurikyu. The inside is finished with plain Akita cedar, so the cedar scent makes the sake taste mellow and even more delicious. When you pour sake into it, you can add a change of flavor to your usual sake, and you can luxuriously enjoy the gentle warmth of the wood with all your senses.
Thinly shaved Akita cedar boards are boiled in hot water to soften them, then rolled into a cylinder and glued together at the seams. They are then sewn together with wild cherry bark and the bottom board is attached tightly. The straight grain of Akita cedar is beautiful, and the wild cherry tree's expression adds a cute touch to the design. Winner of the 2012 Good Design Long Life Design Award.
